Gregory Cardinal approaches his visual art and music from a self-imaginative perspective and at times from real life. Mostly self- taught, he uses a variety of mediums to get his creative ideas across but with enough mystery for the viewer and listener to find their own meaning. He has been busy building on a series called “erudite lil lamps” a collection of mixed media portraits of lamps of all shapes and personalities. Drawing from his love to view specific works of art in museums while listening to music, he has added some of his original instrumental vignettes to this site along with a portal to his Soundcloud account for other musical selections to complement the art, to enhance a feeling or just to help you daydream. His works draw from the inspiration of life’s beauty, imperfections and simplicity in a world of conflict, chaos, and contradiction, reflecting many styles from contemporary abstract, and at times impressionistic approaches to scenes on canvas, cardboard, paper and sound waves.
